George III antique sterling silver waiter or card tray by Thomas Hannan and Richard Mills 1763.
Beautiful mid Georgian waiter with pie crust perimeter and shell terminals. Circular in form with central engraved crest of an owl. Elaborate hand engraving with symmetrical patterning. Three hoofed feet with assay marks to base. London assay hallmarks comprising of makers mark, date letter (h), lion passant and London office mark.
Georgian silver waiter or card tray is in fine condition. The waiter has good patina, with the tray surface having good tension. Hand engraved detailing such as crest and perimeter engraving is crisp with nice definition, all sits flat and level. Minor surface marks to tray surface representative of age. Assay marks are all good for age with slight rubbing to makers and London town mark, all decipherable.
